Step-Up/Step-Down Odd-Count Flat Peyote Beads
There are several facets involved in mastering the peyote stitch technique. Learning the even count flat peyote stitch is just one of the many facets. Linda’s intention with this class, however, is to take you to higher level within the peyote stitch realm by teaching you the Step-Up/Step-Down (or Odd Count Flat Peyote My Way) stitch as shared recently by Cynthia Rutledge.
Linda LOVES this technique because it helps to create “clean edges” on a flat piece of odd-count flat peyote, and, it allows you to create a center line within your design (unlike even count).
First in class, Linda will do a quick demo of the two old traditional techniques of turning. Then, she will teach you how to create your own beads out of Delicas using the Step-Up/Step-Down technique of turning. Lastly, you will use your finished beads to create a bracelet or necklace.
