Patti McAleenan

Growing up in Queens, New York, Patti McAleenan was always encouraged to pursue her creativity. She is an ambitious entrepreneur who loves designing and creating and owns a thriving business in Anchorage called Designs-by-Patti. Her passions are making lampwork beads and a newfound love of working with fiber.

Patti's creations are owned by people all over the world. She travels throughout the U.S. participating in various art, craft and bead shows. In 1997, she won the coveted and nationally recognized Telly Award for Outstanding Recognition in a How-to Video. She has also been a guest on the QVC and Home Shopping Network and has appeared on such TV shows as NBC's "Today Show—Weekend in New York", Lifetime's "Handmade by Design", and Oprah's Oxygen Network "She Commerce".

Patti's teaching background spans many venues from teaching at small shops on the East Coast like AC More and Michaels to teaching large classes with over 100 people per class at the CHA Shows (Craft, Hobby Association ) during a ten year period. She has also taught for Artistic Wire, Etch-All, Beacon Chemical, Fiskars, Aleenes and so many others.
